An Epidemic of Death

Imagine the following scenario:

  • An epidemic struck America in 1973.
  • This epidemic has killed every person in twenty-four states and Washington D.C.– nearly 45-million persons to date.
  • A new fatality occurs every twenty to twenty-four seconds. Officials estimate with a high degree of confidence that another 1.3-million deaths will occur this year.
  • There is no end in sight for the deaths this epidemic will cause.

Public officials, the news media, and citizens would justifiably be terrified, and would demand that something be done to stop the epidemic.

The U.S. Bureau of Census estimates that twenty-four states and the District of Columbia had a combined population of 43,253,360 in July of 2002. This number is only very slightly more than the number of abortion deaths in America from January 1973 until July 2002.

In truth, an epidemic of death did strike America in January 1973. The victims have been unborn babies, aborted by American physicians. This epidemic is not caused by bacteria or viruses, but most often is caused by lack of spiritual and moral convictions among men and women (not reserving sexual intercourse until marriage). When Americans engage in promiscuous sexual activity, the mangled, bloody results commonly find their way into plastic disposal bags in abortion clinics.

Sadly, few people notice or even seem to care about this epidemic.
