Summary of activities:
A Secret Safe Place for Newborns of Tennessee, Inc., is a non-profit organization, formed to support Tennessee’s Safe Haven Law (enacted in July of 2001). Our mission is to end infant abandonment. We offer a helpline (865.982.4224), which is available 24 hours daily, to answer questions of young, frightened mothers who have hidden their pregnancies. We also offer several designated safe place locations where a baby could be surrendered safely and confidentially. The babies must be unharmed newborns, less than 72 hours old, surrendered in person by the mother. Our goal is to provide a safe place for these infants because we believe that every baby deserves life.
Donation needs:
Money (make check payable to “A Safe Place for Newborns of TN, Inc.”)
We always welcome ideas and suggestions of how we can better educate young adults and teenagers about our program.
Tax-deduction status of donations:
Donations are eligible for income tax deduction.
More information about the infant surrender process:
If a baby is surrendered to a safe place location, the mother will be asked some questions. However, she is not required to answer anything that makes her uncomfortable. She will be given a mother’s packet, which includes information that will be helpful if she were to change her mind, needs community resources, or has questions about the program. Also included in the packet is a medical history questionnaire, which we ask that the mother complete and return in the stamped, self-addressed envelope. This medical history, which does not require any identifying information, will be extremely helpful to the child and will help in the adoption process.

Summary of activities:
Blount County Right to Life (BCRL), which is described more fully in this Web site, seeks the following:
1. To educate the public about the sanctity of all life, including life of the unborn child;
2. To educate the public about alternatives to abortion, and to support and promote agencies which provide such alternatives;
3. To encourage women who have had abortions (the “second victims of abortions”) to obtain forgiveness; to be restored to joy and complete fellowship with their God, family, and community; and to erase all feelings of guilt; and
4. To support BCRL’s parent organization, Tennessee Right to Life, Inc., in its attempts to obtain effective pro-life legislation.
BCRL is peaceful, restorative, and law-abiding in all activities. There is never any suggestion that members should engage in violence (abortion clinic bombing or abortionist assassination, for example).

Summary of activities:
We are trained professionals and volunteers who give our time to speak to young people regarding the medical consequences of teen sexual activity outside of marriage. Our goals are to reduce teen sexual activity before marriage and to prevent its consequences, such as: sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), teen pregnancy, and emotional hurt. Our teaching approach emphasizes abstinence as a positive, realistic lifestyle and “secondary virginity” as an option for those who have been sexually active. We know that teens want to be told the truth. That is why our approach is direct and factual. Based on the responses from student evaluations, our medically supported information provides teens with sound reasons to say “No!” to premarital sex and “Yes!” to their future. Our presentations include up-to-date:
1. Documentation slides,
2. Dynamic videos,
3. Literature creatively geared to teens
4. Guest speakers who have been touched by the many ramifications of teen sex.
Training workshops for volunteers are held annually. We have teen support groups, YWWF (You’re Worth Waiting For!) Clubs and mentoring programs for middle schools and high schools.
